My friend Amy came up with the idea to make no-sew blankets for terminally ill children this holiday season. I LOVE this idea!! I was given a no-sew blanket by my best friend when I was first diagnosed and I use it daily. When I was going through chemotherapy I took the blanket with me and it brought me so much comfort :) If a blanket can bring such joy to an adult imagine how much it will bring to a child!!
If your interested in making some blankets to donate please check out Amy's site http://snowbearblankets.blogspot.com/
Thanks!!

Long Time No Blog
Ok so I last left off with the boys getting ready to start school. I was
set on getting back into writing regularly, going to the gym after I
took the kids to school and deep cleaning the house. Did any of that
happen? Nope. I have a tumor in my left leg. Up in my thigh right where
the thigh and butt meet. It started hurting like hell. It was so bad
that I couldn't walk. I was stuck in bed for about a month :( Then I
ended up having to have surgery on September 27th. I had a small bowel
resection and 7 tumors were removed from my intestines. I was in the
hospital for 5 days. I know have a lovely zipper looking scar going down
my belly. After surgery my leg hurt so much worse. I was still stuck in
bed/laying down even after I was recovered from the surgery. I went
back to see my regular oncologist because I was taken off the trial drug
because my last CT Scan showed that the cancer grew a little bit. So
because of surgery I haven't been on any cancer treatment since the
beginning of September. I have bumps and lumps popping up all over. One
in my right thigh (this one does not hurt like the left one though,
thank God), one on my pubic area, one by my right elbow and one by my
right shoulder. You can feel all off them. The only one you can see is
the one in my pubic area. I had another surgery on October 29th. They
removed the tumor in my left leg to hopefully relieve my pain. I *think*
it worked. I don't want to say just yet because it is still pretty sore
from surgery. This one was outpatient, we were home by noon :) I go see
my oncologist on the 9th so I should be starting some treatment then or
shortly after that day. Thank God!!!
The boys are good. Nathan is 7 and in 2nd grade. He is really good at reading...when HE wants to. I wish he loved reading as much as I do. Hopefully he'll end up loving it. Colin is 5 and in kindergarten. He is so smart and such a ham. He's guaranteed to make you laugh multiple times a day!!
Nick and I are good. He has been so great about doing stuff around the house that I haven't been able to do. I have felt so bad that he works all day and would have to come home and do everything. I know that there was nothing I could do about it but I still felt bad, ya know? Yesterday was the first time I made dinner in probably 2 months or so. I'm so glad I'm starting to feel good enough to do all the household chores again!!
Have a good weekend!!

Its Ok Thursday
Its Ok...
...that I am bored out of my mind. Being stuck laying in bed recovering from surgery is no fun anymore! Especially since I was stuck in bed because of my leg for 3 weeks before I even had surgery. I'm so sick of tv, the internet and reading at the moment!
...that since my surgery I hardly have an appetite at all. I have not been able to finish one meal since I've been home. That is unheard of for me. I'm looking forward to seeing what my weight is when I go to the doctor on Monday :)
...that I have not worn my contacts in 3 weeks.
...that I got 4 new books before surgery and have only read 1 so far.
...to love that fall is here but be bummed that I'm cooped up inside and not able to enjoy it right now.
...that I have the best friends in the world. My BFF who lives in AZ arraigned for John Wharton (the old trainer for the Detroit Red Wings who we job shadowed when we were in HS) to visit me when I was in the hospital.
{excuse how hideous I look...lol}
...that I haven't worn a bra since before surgery. Hey it would rub against the staples that are holding my incision together!
...to get crazy cravings for stuff then be satisfied after 2-3 bites.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Ever since I had to read it in junior high I have loved this book.
3. Something you'd like to accomplish before the end of 2012
I would LOVE to be cancer free before this year is over. I have 4 years of missed play time to make up to my babies!
4. If you could go back and relive any year of your life which year would it be?
2005. That was the year Nathan was born and things with Nick and I were so good :)
5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?
That just because I'm quiet and shy does not mean I'm a snotty bitch!

TTUT
Long time no blog huh? The lap top was in the shop for about a week or so getting fixed then after I had it back I felt horrible. I'm back now and hopefully with the kids starting school next week I can get into a regular routine blogging wise. Cross your fingers yo!
I actually got to go out this past weekend. The boys ended up spending the night at my parents house after my niece's birthday party so mama went buck wild!! Nick and I went to Olive Garden for dinner. Never ending pasta, yum! I swore up an down that I'd make it to 2 plates. I even stayed away from the bread sticks and only had a little bit of salad but I still could only eat half of the first plate! Oh well it was good :)
After we left OG Nick said he wanted to go out. So we ended up at the bar with Brett. We had a blast. I ended up so drunk and I was ordering my drinks from the male bartender by telling him to give me more sex!!! I was a hot mess, lol!! I was texting, tweeting and facebooking and you could not read what I was writing. Oh well I had fun and I never go out so it was well deserved!! :)
I'm excited for this weekend. Friday we are going to Cedar Point. I haven't been there in 12 years. We're taking my cousin Hayley with us. Then Sunday we are headed back to Sandusky, OH to go to Kalahari waterpark. We got an awesome deal on Livingsocial for $159. We couldn't pass that up =) We get 6 passes so we asked my brother if him and my niece want to go. If he can't make it we'll ask Blake and Hayley.
Well I'm off. Gotta head out and get some last minute back to school supplies!!
Happy Tuesday!!
