Thursday I went in for my MRI & CT Scans. Thursday night I received a voicemail from my doctor saying that there were changes in my brain MRI and that I needed to call her in the morning to talk. That was about 8pm. I was a wreck for the rest of the night. Thankfully Colin was asleep when I listened to my messages and Nick and Nathan were at school for family reading night. By the time they got home I had at least stopped balling my eyes out. I was able to play if off that I was just in a lot of pain from my teeth for Nathan. Nick knew something was wrong. Seriously wrong.
After Nathan was asleep we talked and I only looked up changes in a brain glioma once. I called my parents and my aunts and then we watched a movie to try and take our minds off of things.
The next morning I went to the oral surgeon to have my 3 wisdom teeth removed [I had 1 taken out when I was pregnant with Colin]. Nick called my doctor at 9am. She was out of town so she didn't have the report or slides in front of her. She just had the info that the doctor who read the report gave her. Basically the glioma is a slow moving brain tumor. It has not changed since they found it until Thursday. They are 95-98% sure that it is not melanoma. If it was melanoma I'd have been gone a long time ago.
So the plan as of now is an appointment with the neuro surgeon on Monday morning. My melanoma treatment is being put on hold until this issue is worked out. Did I really just refer to my brain tumor as this issue?!? My doctor doesn't want to take me off the study for good since it has been shrinking/staying stable.
I'll keep ya all updated. Thanks for all the love & prayers you are showing me on FB :) I appreciate it!!!
