Need a tutor? Check out StudyPoint

My husband and I have been thinking about how we will help our oldest son with his reading and writing come summertime. We've started exploring getting a tutor. He is having a hard time with concentrating on his reading. We don't want him to fall behind, fail a grade or get held back. My husband and I were both held back in elementary school and we don't want that to happen to our son.

StudyPoint is a company that provides tutoring services for all subjects including SAT and ACT test prep. The co-founders of StudyPoint, Richard Enos and Gregory Zumas, wanted to focus on the needs of families who wanted a higher level of customer service and convenience, and on students who would benefit from individualized, one-to-one instruction. The founders started in Boston in 1999 and after growing a strong base there they expanded to Washington DC, New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia. In 2006, the company added offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Over the next two years, StudyPoint opened new offices in eleven different locations: Atlanta, Dallas-Ft.Worth, Detroit, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Seattle. By the end of 2009, the company had expanded again to begin working with students in Austin and San Diego.

There are three things that set StudyPoint apart from other tutoring companies. First is the highly personalized attention that your child will get. One-on-one instruction is something that can not be provided in the classroom setting, your tutor will focus exclusively on your child's individual needs. Second is the focus on grades that your tutor will provide. They will focus on the lessons and material being covered each week by your child's classroom teacher. The goal is to help your child grasp new concepts, and when necessary, to fill skill gaps that are preventing him or her from fully understanding new material. Lastly they offer in-home convenience. Life is busy enough as it is and sometimes all the driving back and forth to a tutoring center can make families not stick with it. StudyPoint tutors come to you.
