So recently I have been entering quite a few giveaways and I want to know how do you get companies to give you stuff to give away? Do you contact them? Do they contact you? Do you have to have a certain # of followers? Whats the secret people? I think I may want in on all the fun. I just don't know how...

I've been contacted by companies but I think you could probably contact them too. Some of them care about your stats (and some don't really care). Some of them require you to do certain things ( like request that the people entering have to sign up for their newsletter) and some let you just do your own thing.
For me, I added a disclosure and PR page to my blog and companies started contacting me. There are also PR networks where you can get your name on a list...like Mom Bloggers Club, MamaBuzz reviews, MyBlogSpark, etc.

I think they contact you. I've been contacted a few times. But I know some Bloggers who have contacted companies too.
